Computer Literacy and Information Technology (CLAiT)

The course is accredited by Oxford Cambridge Royal Society of Arts (OCR) and when the candidate successfully completes all modules will receive a full certificate from Oxford Cambridge Royal Society of Arts (OCR).


No previous computer experience is needed for this course.


This course is designed to give the user basic skills needed to start work with a modern computer.


Areas Covered

Word Processing
Entering and editing text, opening, saving and modifying a file, formatting and manipulating text,
changing the appearance of text.

Database
Creating and maintaining a database, creating and modifying a query, manipulating data.

Spreadsheets
Creating a spreadsheet, creating basic formulas, editing a spreadsheet and changing the way a
spreadsheet is displayed.

BBC Webwise
Created by the BBC and split into 8 different sections covering all aspects of e-mail and the Internet.

Graphs and Charts
Creating a standard chart or graph. Altering the settings within the chart. Adding additional
components such as lines, arrows and text boxes.
